About Us
Adam and Tracey started the Hill Bakery in Camberwell, south-east London, 10 years ago, initially baking from home for delivery to neighbours before opening a small and much-loved shop which sold our sourdough bread and pastries, alongside other deli products sourced mostly from around south-east England.
The Slow Food principles that inspired the shop – good food, low food miles, at a price that’s fair for producers as well as consumers, and produced in a way that minimises effects on the environment – are something that we’ve applied at Dunsdon since we moved here in 2022.
Our vision for the future involves establishing a small bakery in the farmyard stables to supply our local market with sourdough bread and to allow us to offer baking classes for small groups in a dedicated teaching space: to socialise, bake, cook and share good food together in such a beautiful and peaceful setting is surely one of the greatest pleasures life has to afford.
By staying with us you also help to support the other side of our work, namely, to conserve the rare and threatened habitats of which we’re lucky enough to be the custodians and to protect the extraordinary biodiversity that exists here for future generations.
